As of November 28, 2011, CNIB Ottawa will be located at Suite 101, 1355 Bank Street.
Now, it will be easier for people who are blind or partially sighted to learn independent living skills such as pouring a cup of coffee, simple techniques for identifying money, and independent travel instruction such as riding public transit with confidence to reach community resources like a grocery store, bank or shopping mall.
The Bank Street location is more centralized and more accessible. Clients, volunteers and staff will be well-served by pedestrian controlled traffic lights, good bus routes and a major transit station.
“We look forward to settling into our new home and welcoming clients to our new space,” says Mike Nicholson, CNIB Ottawa’s Associate Director of Services and Operations.
The office will be open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.
