We accept:
- Original poems and stories by Canadian students up to grade 12
- Contracted or uncontracted braille (and everything in between)
- Perkins or computer (6-key entry)

Four winners of the 2011 Braille Creative Writing Contest were invited to attend the CNIB Conference in Toronto and accept their prizes in person. On October 22 they also read their winning entries for the Conference audience.
- Gabrielle (Fall River, Nova Scotia) won first prize for her story in the Grade 1, 2, 3 category.
- Keisha (Lower Nicola, British Columbia) won first prize for her poem in the Grade 4, 5, 6 category.
- Genevieve (Orleans, Ontario) won first prize for her poem in the Grade 7, 8, 9 category.
- Robert (Toronto, Ontario) won first prize for his story in the Grade 10, 11, 12 category.

After the presentation, Jean Little and Keisha spent a few quiet moments discussing creative writing.

Creative writing was judged by Canadian authors and editors:
