Partnership: The Investor Education Fund
The Investor Education Fund (IEF) and the CNIB Library partnered to
establish a fully accessible financial literacy program for the more
than three million people with vision loss or other print disabilities
across the country. IEF invested an outstanding $270,000 between 2005
and 2007 toward the production and distribution of its materials in
braille, and audio formats.
These materials are essential additions to the CNIB Library
collection covering topics such as the fundamentals of investments, how
to protect yourself against frauds and scams, and money management for
children. Prior to the development of the IEF collection, CNIB library
users had little or no access to current financial information.
CNIB thanks IEF for helping us meet the financial literacy needs of
the print disabled population by making financial information available
to all.
The Investor Education Fund was established by the Ontario Securities
Commission, the province's securities regulator, and is funded by OSC
enforcement settlements.
