Making a gift of Life Insurance to CNIB
Is a life insurance gift right for you?
If you are under 70 years of age and interested in making a substantial charitable gift that benefits both you and CNIB, then a gift of life insurance may be the perfect choice for you
What are the benefits?
By purchasing a life insurance policy naming CNIB as the owner and beneficiary, you can make a substantial gift in the future but pay only modest premiums today.
You will receive a charitable tax receipt for your premium payments which will reduce taxes on other sources of income.
The gift from your insurance policy will not get tied up in probate.
You’ll help enhance independence for people with vision loss and promote vision health.
How much money will it cost?
The amount of money you pay in premiums depends on a set of formulas and actuarial tables that take into account factors such as your age, payment schedule and whether you are male or female.
Be sure to get outside advice
The above information is not intended as legal or financial planning advice. When considering any planned gift, you should always consult your legal advisor, banker, financial planner or your family members.
Considerations for you
To maximize your gift, you may need to pay premiums for years and years. It may be more beneficial to you to simply leave a gift in your will to CNIB instead of buying an insurance policy. For more information, please contact:
