In Canada, over 20,000 children live with vision loss.
They are brave, curious and imaginative like all children, but they must overcome many obstacles that other kids never experience. Without support, everyday activities like getting dressed, eating and playing with friends are all challenges that take time and support to overcome.
Each child with vision loss needs unique services and care from their community. But there is a significant lack of specialized services for kids who are blind or partially sighted in Canada – and many families simply go without.
You can help by becoming a
vision 4 kids sponsor. For a monthly gift of $25 – or just 82 cents a day, you can help ensure CNIB is able to give blind and partially sighted children in your community specialized, one-on-one support throughout the pivotal stages of childhood – helping them learn, grow and achieve their full potential.
As a
vision 4 kids sponsor, you’ll receive a welcome package that includes a colourful growth chart; hang it in your home to illustrate the impact you’re making in the lives of children with vision loss, and track the growth of the special children in your own life. You’ll also receive ongoing
vision 4 kids newsletters that will introduce you to some of the incredible kids CNIB is able to help thanks to your support.
The
vision 4 kids program is available in all provinces except for Quebec where, thankfully, provincial funding exists to help children who are blind pr partially sighted.
