With generous funding from The Manitoba Law Foundation, CNIB has developed Know Your Rights – Manitoba, a project that is designed to empower Manitobans who are blind, partially sighted or Deafblind to better understand their rights, navigate the Manitoba legal system and self-advocate to challenge discrimination.
Know Your Rights – Manitoba is based on the Ontario pilot project developed in 2019 and funded by the Law Foundation of Ontario. While based upon the Ontario pilot, great care has been taken (through focus groups and consultations) to ensure that Know Your Rights – Manitoba is specific to the barriers that Manitobans who are blind, partially-sighted and Deafblind face on a day-to-day basis.
