STEM Explorers is an engaging, hands-on workshop series that invites children and youth with sight loss (ages 8+) to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through creativity, experimentation and discovery.
Led by enthusiastic University of Ottawa student mentors, each monthly session will introduce a new STEM theme through interactive projects and practical challenges. From exploring 3D printing and building structures to experimenting with robotics and simple engineering, participants will have opportunities to learn new skills, solve problems and bring their ideas to life.
Designed with accessibility and inclusion at its core, the series will emphasize tactile exploration, hands-on learning, teamwork and the freedom to experiment. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, try new things and discover that STEM is for everyone.
This workshop series will be held once a month (dates TBD) at the CNIB Ottawa Hub.
